Cambridge Academy Overview
Cambridge Academy offers early childhood programs for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years and is open Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Our Mission
Cambridge Academy's educational philosophy encourages a learning environment that stimulates and nurtures children's growth and development. Our unique learning atmosphere incorporates a careful blend of Traditional and Montessori styles of learning through teacher directed activities and structured play. We believe that each child should be provided with experiences of self-esteem, which are essential in the adjusting, exploring and growing stages of child development. This approach ensures that each child's learning experience at Cambridge Academy will be nurtured at the proper pace and level, and will provide them with the educational foundation for a bright future.
Our carefully balanced program features a full day of developmentally and age-appropriate lessons and activities that your child will enjoy. Whether infant, toddler or preschool, our teachers provide lessons and activities that help develop the whole child – physically, emotionally, intellectually, and socially. Understanding that each child is unique, our teaching philosophy incorporates structured activities while remaining flexible enough to foster self-discovery that will help each child explore and learn at their own pace.
Our Teachers
Cambridge Academy takes great pride in our teaching staff and goes to great lengths to ensure that all of the teachers meet the qualifications set by the state and that they complete extensive training and orientation programs. Our degreed and well qualified teachers are carefully selected based on their education, previous teaching experience, love of children and the ability to bond and effectively communicate with their students. All staff members are subjected to stringent background screening, health screening and references are always thoroughly checked.
Curriculum
Our age-appropriate curriculum is an educationally sound program that has been tested and proven in the classroom to be highly effective. The curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through hands-on activities that address the needs of the whole child. Each learning program reflects the belief that children need a balance of child-initiated and teacher-facilitated activities each day. This approach is grounded in sound child development theory and appropriate practices. Themes are used to introduce information and learning takes place as a child explores and manipulates real objects and events.
Computer Lab
Computers are a focal point for academic learning and exploration. Interaction with the computer will provide the children with positive rewards for their skills. By using the computer, the children will be involved in reading, spelling, exercising simple mathematics, and learning a basic introduction to the computer. By the time the children leave Cambridge Academy, computers will be second nature to them. This learn through play program will be offered to children ages three and older.
Enrichment Program
We believe that it is essential to expose your child to the Arts, therefore we offer supplemental classes that consist of Gymnastics, Dance, Karate, Spanish, Drama, and Music. Our staff is specially trained in these different disciplines and you will be amazed by how much your child will learn and how much fun they will have doing so.
State of the Art Facility…..Safe and Secure for your peace of mind
We spared no expense to make sure that your child will be safe and secure within Cambridge Academy. Our state-of-the-art facility and age-appropriate equipment is child-friendly, learning conducive and was specifically designed for preschool age children. For your peace of mind, the main entrance into the school is password-protected to ensure that only authorized parents and staff members gain access into our school for child pick-up and drop-off. In addition, cameras are positioned throughout the school and are broadcast into our centralized viewing area within the lobby for administration monitoring and for parents that want to see their children interact within the classroom. You can be assured that your child will be safe and sound in Cambridge Academy. |
