Preschool Program (3 years to 5 years)
Preschoolers are ready to expand their horizons and achievements to seek out information, explore new territory and make sense of all they encounter. Teachers can be found encouraging children to learn, bolstering children's self image, exploring children's interests, marveling in children's creativity, offering a child-centered classroom and respecting children and their work.
Classroom activities follow our theme-based curriculum with an emphasis on letters, numbers, shapes, colors, language, writing and reading skills. Classrooms are set up in learning centers and activities are teacher directed but they still allow the flexibility for the children to independently explore areas of interest.
This unique environment will help children develop emotionally, socially and physically, while also enhancing their self-confidence that will prepare them for Kindergarten.
Computer Lab
Computers are a focal point for academic learning and exploration. Interaction with the computer will provide the children with positive rewards for their skills. By using the computer, the children will be involved in reading, spelling, exercising simple mathematics, and learning a basic introduction to the computer. By the time the children leave Cambridge Academy, computers will be second nature to them. This learn through play program will be offered to children ages three and older.
Enrichment Program
We believe that it is essential to expose your child to the Arts, therefore we offer supplemental classes that consist of Gymnastics, Dance, Karate, Spanish, Drama, Arts & Crafts and Music. Our staff members are specially trained in these different disciplines and you will be amazed by how much your child will learn and how much fun they will have doing so. These supplemental classes are available to children 3 to 5 years old.
Observation and Progress Reports
Progress reports will be distributed quarterly for each child that will help parents understand the child's accomplishments and enable their teacher's to make the necessary adjustments in the classroom to meet their needs. This observation and progress reporting program will help each child and parent achieve a smooth transition into the next stage of their education.
Uniforms
Children in the Upper School (PK3 - PK5) are required to wear Cambridge Academy Uniform. Research has shown that children who wear a school uniform perform better academically. Wearing a school uniform offers many benefits. First, children develop a sense of pride when they wear their Cambridge Academy uniform. the uniform says, "I am part of a special place." It also establishes a sense of routine and helps ease the stress in the morning for the children and their parents. |
